Hi everyone, I'm Rory (they/them). I'm so excited to be coming to Drachenfest and my first ever full immersion LARP event (and terrified if I'm being honest, but terrified leaning positive)!
I've been playing Amtgard for 7 years in which I have earned the title of Paragon Monk and have been DYING to get some more RP in my LA if you know what I mean. I have experience in acting but also Social Anxiety so it's hard to say where my improv skills are. I may seem standoffish at first, but in reality I'm just screaming internally, and hopefully I'll be able to loosen up by day 2.
I will be playing my primary character, Amyris. They are a Monkeyfolk with a deep respect for nature, believing all things have a spirit and must be cared for so obviously they will be staying in ...
Silver Camp! Tricked ya! While surely Amyris would feel right at home in Green camp, or even Blue camp, Amyris feels their goals align most closely with Silver. Amyris has a strong sense of justice and while they are very humble, they are in fact the best Monk in Goldenvale 😉. So why shouldn't they align themselves with the best?
Amyris also has a history in piracy, so they have the capacity to get along with everyone. Unless you're a demon possessing people or are burning down trees for fun. Then you're irredeemable.
Hey, it's me!
I'm so looking forward to meeting everyone!
Welcome! You're going to be well surrounded in Silver, several among us (myself included) are well aquainted with the struggles of anxiety and of those I know, we are all extremely understanding, forgiving and full of patience and helpfullness. My character, like Tristram, tends to be uncomfortable about non-humans but I've been trying to play curiosity being stronger than mistrust. That said, I'm also aware that my acting skills can be quite convincing so I'll try to remember to check in regularly with you to make sure you yourself don't feel uncomfortable because the point of all this is to have fun! Besides, as you'll quickly discover, I'm an extremely friendly and caring person in real life :D
Cool to see another unconventional Silver! I'm glad the camp shows signs of growing and I don't mind that we're branching out from knights in shining armor to make that happen. I think a monk is a perfect fit for Silver, as I would think they would be someone who devotes their life to higher ideals, and it sounds like they have a paragon mindset that will fit right in. If you're a kind of animal person Tristram, my character, might be standoffish at first because in his world animal people are trolls and they are the sworn enemies of mannkind, but once he sees you aren't like them, things should be fine.
" I may seem standoffish at first, but in reality I'm just screaming internally, and hopefully I'll be able to loosen up by day 2. " Mood. I am glad there are others sharing this sentiment 🙃
Welcome to silver camp, it is great to see another animal-folk in camp.
